Residential Supported Living Community Education Day Recreation (Summer) Resource Line
         
           
 Residential Program  

Our program is a 24 hour mental health care facility supporting residents living with mental illness. The Centre provides five rehabilitation beds. Our program focuses on supporting each resident as they develop life skills required to live as healthy and independently as possible in their community.

Our program works collaboratively with Psychiatrists and Rehabilitation Psychiatric Nurses to assess the support needs and goal planning of the individuals.

 Community Education Program  

Our program's primary aim is to reduce the barriers of mental health and the stigma surrounding mental illness. Our program strives to achieve this goal by creating community awareness, while developing compassion and understanding in individuals through education.

Services are available to both staff and clients of community based organizations, educational institutions, and the public.

 Day Program (Ways to Wellness Program)

Our program provides social, recreational, and prevocational programs that focus on personal growth, support, community integration, meaningful activities and possible entry or re-entry into the work force. The Education Component and the Employment Readiness Component are encompassed in our Day Program.

 
  Education Component: Weekly Support Groups and Information Sessions operate on a continuous intake and/or drop-in basis. The purpose of these groups are to increase participants social well being; by strengthening coping skills and independence to become more resistant to crisis.
     
  Employment Readiness Component:  Our program is designed to assist individuals living with mental illness prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment opportunities. Our 16 Week Pre-Employment Program focuses on both career and personal skills. Vocational training teaches skills in group sessions and one on one service.
 
Individuals will have an opportunity to participate in employment and/or volunteer placements, individualized coaching, skills assessments, and networking.

 Recreation (Summer) Program  

Our program was created to encourage clients to lead healtheir lives mentally, physically, and socially. Activities are planned throughout the summer months to assist clients with developing and increasing socialization, self-esteem and motivation.

Program Goals :

     
  To increase clients involvement in their community
  To educate clients on the concept of overall "Wellness"
  To teach clients the benefits of sport, recreation and culture in terms of stress management and self care
  To have fun, fun and more fun!!

 Resource Line  

Our Centre offers a 24 hour Resource Line available to the community. The line does not counsel, but offers emotional support to those in distress, as well as provides referral services to appropriate community resources.
